Welcome By The President

I would like to extend a warm welcome on behalf of Shining Mountains Living Community Services (SMLCS).

I want to thank the staff and management for their hard work and dedication in providing services and supports to Aboriginal people in Alberta. I want to thank the staff for their care and commitment to offering the best available services to Aboriginal people at risk of or dealing with HIV/AIDS, homelessness and violence.

I want also to thank the Board of Directors for their assistance and continued support to our Executive Director and for the guidance offered to the agency. 2009 ? 2010 has been a busy and productive year with the meeting of many challenges and successes.

I would like to express sincere thanks to our funders, including foundations, both provincial and federal departments and community partners who have supported SMLCS during the past year. We have accepted the challenges which lie ahead of us and will continue our best efforts to address HIV/AIDS issues as well as issues of homelessness, poverty and violence. We anticipate the coming year with enthusiasm and hope.
