Shining Mountains Living Community Services is a registered charity.
We have been operating in Red Deer for over 15 years.
Shining Mountains provides a wide range of community services for people at risk for, and who are living with HIV/AIDS and/or HCV, homelessness, domestic violence, and addictions including
the Tawaow Healing and recovery,
capacity building and Cutural Training programs for organizations, education, and referral programs.
Our programs help people help themselves, and address issuesrelated to HIV/AIDS. HCV, STI's, homelessness, domestic violence, addiction, HIV/AIDS, and self sufficiency, thereby reducing the incidence of harm to individuals and communities.

Swan Nutrition Program
This program is both a nutrition and budgeting program for men.
Cooking and nutrition classes are offered, along with other information classes on healthy living.
Men who attend these classes will receive "Shining Mountains Dollars" which can then be spent at the Shining Mountains Food area for groceries (Shining Mountains Dollars are coupons in various demoninations and are not legal tender)
Men then learn cooking, nutrition, kitchen safety, and budgeting skills through this program.
The Swan Nutrition program is made possible with funding from the MAC AIDS Fund.

Tawow Homes Program

– this program offers a transitional, residential support program to women with or without children, who are escaping violence and addictions. It operates out of a seven bedroom home in Red Deer, AB. It offers:
a. On site support,
b. Programs in parenting, life skills, violence and addictions prevention, nutrition and budgeting.
Tawow Homes Program
Shining Mountains operates and maintains safe, healthy housing for women with or without children, who are escaping violence and addictions.
The Tawow program offers on-site support, and programs in life skills, parenting, violence and addictions prevention, nutrition, and budgeting.
