Duane Morriseau
Duane is a Metis man orginally from Manitoba. With over 10 years experience in HIV/AIDS, his influence in policy setting, and groundbreaking initiatives for Aboriginal people living with HIV/AIDS can be seen in the Canadian Strategy on HIV/AIDS, the Aboriginal Strategy on HIV/AIDS in Canada, community health programming, and research spheres. Duane is active in ensuring equal access to antiretrovirals for Aboriginal people living with HIV/AIDS, promoting prevention and education around HIV/AIDS in Metis, Inuit, and First Nation communities, and providing access to, and supporting and promoting economic opportunities for Aboriginal People.
Duane is currently working as an Aboriginal Labour Market Advisor in the Aboriginal Program Operations department of Human Resources and skills development Canada. He is currently working on a Bachelor of Health Administration at Athabasca University.
